We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations for a multi-site healthcare organization. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for a diverse workforce while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.

Position Summary
The Payroll Specialist will process payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple locations. This role partners closely with Human Resources, Finance, and leadership to ensure payroll accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and support reporting and compliance efforts.

Key Responsibilities
Process weekly and/or bi-weekly payroll for employees across multiple clinics and cost centers
Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, shift differentials, on-call pay, bonuses, and other earnings
Review, validate, and reconcile timekeeping data from time and attendance systems
Administer payroll deductions including benefits, taxes, garnishments, and retirement contributions
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
Maintain accurate payroll records and safeguard confidential employee information
Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end and year-end close activities
Prepare and distribute payroll reports to HR, Finance, and leadership
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and discrepancies
Coordinate with HR on new hires, terminations, status changes, and leave of absence pay (PTO, sick leave, FMLA, etc.)
Support internal, external, and regulatory audits
Assist with payroll system updates, testing, and process improvements

Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent experience)
2–4 years of payroll processing experience
Experience processing payroll for both hourly and salaried employees
Working knowledge of payroll taxes, wage and hour laws, and compliance requirements
Proficiency with payroll and timekeeping systems (ADP, Paychex, UKG, Workday, or similar)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and customer service skills
High level of discretion and confidentiality

Current TB clearance (within the last 6 months)
Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications
Healthcare and/or multi-site payroll experience
Experience supporting union and non-union employees
Familiarity with shift differentials, call pay, and complex overtime rules
